Overview

This course guides you through the key activities that are related to the Watson Query service in IBM Cloud Pak for Data. Throughout this course, you use Watson Query to virtualize data and learn how to create a unified view of different data sources. You also query the virtualized data using an SQL interface and improve your query performance.

Prerequisites

• Basic knowledge of workflows for managing business processes
• Basic understanding of relational database model concept – more specifically, the purpose of a primary key
• Basic understanding of the SQL syntax

Objective

• Provision a Watson Query instance on Cloud Pak for Data v4.6 on IBM Cloud
• Create a project for your workload and create Platform assets catalog
• Add data connections to your Watson Query instance
