This course is for students who already have experience Linux System Administration, and want to progress further or are considering taking the RHCSA exam. It looks at topics including automation, storage, performance, security, and troubleshooting.
Audience
This course continues the path in more advanced skills for administrators new to Red Hat 8 or CentOS 8, it is also aimed at those who wish to go on to become certified with the RHCSA exam.
Prerequisites
Attendance on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 - Linux Admin 1 or equivalent previous experience with the Red Hat Linux system is required.

Our Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 - Linux Admin 2 course is designed for students who have completed the System Admin 1 course or have equivalent Linux administration skills, and want to progress further or who are considering taking the RHCSA exam. Topics
Expedite the Command Line
In this module, you will learn to write BASH Shell Scripts and to write regular expressions that, when partnered with grep, will allow you to quickly isolate or locate content within text files.
Schedule future Linux tasks
Schedule tasks to automatically execute in the future using at, cron and system timers.
Tuning Server Performance
Influence the relative priorities at which Linux processes run and learn how to use tuning profiles and tuneadm.
Control access to files with access control lists (ACL)
Manage file security using POSIX access control lists.
Manage SELinux security
Manage the Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) behavior of a system to keep it secure in case of a network service compromise.
Add disks, partitions, and file systems to a Linux system
Manage simple partitions and file systems using parted.
Manage logical volume management (LVM) storage
Manage logical volumes from the command line using LVM2.
Using Advanced Storage
Stratis is a new storage layer in RHEL 8 that is used to Manage your LVM volumes and filesystems in the one hit providing Enterprise Storage without the need of new and experimental filesystems such as ZFS and BTRFS. This is coupled with VDO allowing you access to data de-duplication and compression.
Access networked attached storage with network file system (NFS)
Access NFS shares using NFS4 and use the autoconf tool. Additionally, you will learn the auto-mounter service to mount directories as they are required.
Control and troubleshoot the Red Hat Enterprise Linux boot process
Using systemd targets to control the boot process and recover from failed system or lost root passwords
Limit network communication with FirewallD
Configure a basic firewall and understand SELinux Ports.
Firewalls with nftables
For more exacting control of your firewall you will want to use the native firewall which is nftables in RHEL 8. Using nft you will learn to create rules to support multiple protocol stacks.
