Overview:


This 5-day lecture and hands-on lab course is designed for functional users of Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 8.x and will provide students with the ability to manage the planning and execution of a Maximo Implementation.


In addition to an introduction of MAS 8.x, this in-depth workshop that gives students an understanding of key management responsibilities including Inventory, Asset, Work, Purchasing, Contracts preventative maintenance configuration and condition monitoring. Included are optional challenge exercises.


The content covered is inclusive of the following courses:


• Maximo Application Suite - Manage: Inventory Management

• Maximo Application Suite - Manage: Asset Management

• Maximo Application Suite - Manage: Work Management

• Maximo Application Suite - Manage: Purchasing and Contracts

• Maximo Application Suite - Manage: Preventive Maintenance and Condition Monitoring

This course overall is intended for Maximo Implementation Consultants, Maximo Support consultants, Maximo Administrators, Technical Sales, and other functional users including Solution Architects and Project Managers.


Prerequisites:


None. An introductory lecture of MAS 8 will be included in Day 1 of this course.


Course Outline:


After completing this course, you should be able to:


• Understand the role of Inventory Management in Maximo and its related data.

• Set up and manage items and assets

• Use the Inventory application and related applications in the Maximo Application Suite

• Use many available options for inventory usage

• Reorder items and assets manually and automatically

• Understand the role of Asset Management in Maximo and its related data.

• Understand and create an asset record from the Assets application

• Create an asset record using rotating items.

• Describe and create an asset template and thereby generate new assets and update existing assets from this template.

• Discuss Meters, meter groups and their usage in Asset management.

• Describe locations from the perspective of assets.

• Move assets from one location to another, swap assets, modify asset users, modify custodians, modify groups, and modify attributes.

• Create assets, specify storeroom locations, and issue assets.

• Modify asset specifications through the asset application and through the work order.

• Create item assembly structures and apply them to assets and locations.

• Create asset records and Item assembly structure from the Receiving application using an approved purchase order.

• Describe asset classifications.

• Understand and create linear assets.

• Create new classifications that are used in items and asset records.

• Understand relationships and create them between multiple assets, be it linear or point assets.

• Create new rotating items that reference newly created classifications.

• Define the asset depreciation schedule and the various aspects involved with it.

• Describe the asset maintenance cost roll up in Maximo.

• Describe how asset management can be enhanced with Maximo Health and Maximo Predict.
